Advising

Advisors serve as an information center. They help new, returning, and transfer students move through the enrollment process at UCC, and help them reach their educational goals.

Academic advisors and counselors are readily available to help you select courses and identify UCC program majors, and provide Oregon University System (OUS) transfer information. Academic advisers and counselors may assist you with developing educational or transfer planners for all students.

If you are a newly admitted student, you are required to complete the Student Orientation and Financial Aid Literacy Seminar prior to registering for classes. Call 541-440-4610 to register for a session. The Student Orientation is a registration enforced pre-requisite at Umpqua Community College. All newly admitted degree seeking students are required to complete the SO at UCC. Returning students who have not completed the SO as of Summer of 2009 will also be required to do so. Students will be assigned an academic advisor or counselor at the time of your admissions. Academic advisors are located in the Welcome Center and Counselors are located in the Student Center.
