    Mental health professionals are offering no-cost grief sharing: 9am-8pm through Thursday at the Ford Foundation, 1600 NW Stewart Pkwy; and the Community Health Alliance, 201 Medical Loop.

    Beginning Monday, Oct 5, grief sharing will be available on campus, 7:30am - 5pm in the cafeteria.

    The Community Health Alliance is staffing a 24-hour hotline at 541-440-3532 or 800-866-9780.

SOWI Vineyard

Two acres of vineyard property along the west-facing knoll of the SOWI facility were designated the Scott Henry Vineyard, in recognition of Roseburg vintner C. Scott Henry III and his vision and steadfast commitment to the SOWI project.

In July 2013, a local vineyard consultant, W.M. Henri Development, guided the development of the Scott Henry Vineyard and planted about 1,300 Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir vines. The vines are expected to yield fruit by 2015 for production of SOWI estate wines. The vineyard has been certified sustainable through the Low Impact Viticulture and Enology (LIVE) organization.

The Scott Henry Vineyard offers an excellent opportunity for students to learn proper vineyard development principles, including trellis placement and installation of drip irrigation systems. In addition, students have a living laboratory in which to learn the practical application of vineyard management principles.
