Learn Welding for the Hobbyist

Winchester— Umpqua Community College is offering a class, “Welding for the Hobbyist,” September 29 to November 24, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the UCC campus, Lockwood Hall Room 11. The class was publicized in the fall class schedule as a Monday class. It has been changed to Tuesdays. Tuition is $3, fees are $147, and the instructor is Ian Fisher. To register, call 440-7744 and ask for course number 24810.

This course covers welding processes, safety, equipment, and essential variables of operation. This is a project based course utilizing a lab format for students to creatively plan and fabricate welded projects. Students need to bring goggles, a lab coat, welding gloves, and project materials to the first class. Contact instructor Ian Fisher (440-7819) with questions. No class November 11.
