Local Vineyard Hosts UCC Engineering Club Benefit May 31

Dillard— Wild Rose Vineyard presents the third annual benefit concert and wine tasting event for Umpqua Community College’s Engineering Club on Saturday, May 31, from noon to 5 p.m., at Wild Rose Vineyard, 375 Porter Creek Road, Winston, Oregon. Cost is $10 per person; children under 12 are free. All of the gate receipts will go to the UCC Engineering Club to provide funds for scholarship, seminars, and conferences. Guests are asked to bring lawn chairs and blankets to this outdoor activity. This will be a rain or shine event as canopies will be liberally supplied. Look for the winery tour route signs beginning on Brockway Road (Dillard) leading to the vineyard or get directions online at www.wildrosevineyard.com.
Entertainment will be provided by three local rock bands: Woodland Driver, Rock Bottom, and Freaks Unleashed. Food, beer and wine are available for purchase.
Wild Rose Vineyard’s Tasting Room will be open. The Wild Rose Vineyard was established in 1995 by Denise and Carlos Figueroa and produces varieties of Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. Carlos Figueroa is an engineering instructor at Umpqua Community College.
