Apply now for UCC Scholars

Applications Accepted March 7-14

High schools students interested in the new UCC Scholars program at Umpqua Community College have only a short window to apply for the renewable tuition waiver.

The one-page application is available on the UCC Foundation website at www.umpqua.edu/scholarships-donations.  The application must be delivered to the Scholarship Office, Technology Center room 107, on the main UCC campus.

Students selected as UCC Scholars will need to use the tuition waiver this fall.

The UCC Scholars program, which was announced in January, allows high school and home-school students and military veterans who meet academic requirements to attend UCC full-time without paying tuition. Students would still be responsible for paying for fees, books, and supplies.

Basic Eligibility Requirements - High School Students

  • Must graduate from a UCC district high school within one year
  • Must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.5 or better
  • Must meet basic placement test requirements in math and writing
  • Must enroll at UCC full time during the fall term immediately following high school graduation

Military veterans must meet the same academic requirements as high school students. Additionally, veterans must have joined the military within three months of graduating high school and must enroll at UCC within six months of their military service ending.

Home-school students must be registered with a local school district and have ACT scores of at least 23 or SAT scores of at least 1000 (combined math and reading), in addition to meeting the standard high school requirements.

Once accepted as UCC Scholars, students can keep their scholarship for up to six terms by maintaining a 3.25 GPA and a full-time schedule of classes (15-19 credits), and completing 10 hours of community service each term.
