Umpqua Community College Culinary Arts presents a Leap Day Dinner before the Patrick McManus comedy show, “A Fine and Pleasant Misery,” performed by Tim Behrens.

Dinner will be served on February 29, 2008 at 5:00 pm in the UCC Dining Room, Campus Center. The dinner is $15 per person and paid reservations are accepted through February 21st. You can purchase dinner tickets by calling 440.4691 or visiting the Fine Arts Office at the College, 1140 Umpqua College Road, Roseburg, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. We accept cash, check, Visa, and MasterCard.

The dinner menu is smoked tri tip, marinated and roasted chicken breast, brick red beans, tossed green salad, pasta salad, cornbread with whipped honey butter and an assortment of desserts. All dinner proceeds go towards the UCC Culinary Arts program.

“A Fine and Pleasant Misery” is a one-man stage show about the humor of Patrick McManus. Pat McManus is one of America’s funniest humor writers with columns appearing in Field and Stream and Outdoor Life. McManus, author of twelve books, took his growing up years and fears of the dark in rural Idaho and put them on stage. One reviewer describes the show as “A wonderful cross between Mark Twain and Bill Cosby.” The result is a hilarious show with rolling laughter coming from the audiences. The comedy begins at 7:00 p.m. in Jacoby Auditorium on the main campus and brought to you by Art Beat.

Ticket prices for the show are $25 and $20 per person and can be purchased at the following locations: Umpqua Community College Fine Arts, 440.4691, Roseburg North Stephens Safeway, or www.ticketswest.com with additional handling fees.
