UCC to plant sequoia tree as a tribute to Oregon’s 150th anniversary

Umpqua Community College will be planting a commemorative tree on Wednesday, May 27 at 2 p.m. at the UCC campus on the south side of the Swanson Amphitheatre.

In order for the college to have a long-lasting tribute to the 150th anniversary of Oregon's statehood, Sue Shaffer, Douglas County Oregon150 chair; Charles Young, UCC Oregon 150 representative; and UCC president, Blaine Nisson will help plant a beautiful sequoia tree.
