Exhibition to build up UCC Engineering Department

Winchester -- Umpqua Community College’s Engineering Club will be hosting an appetizer and dessert reception, Thursday, May 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Jacoby Auditorium. During this reception, guests will be able to visit booths set up by representatives from local engineering firms as well as representatives from Oregon State University, Portland State University and Oregon Institute of Technology. Local high school students, UCC students, area counselors and instructors are encouraged to attend.

The exhibition will be followed by a UCC program presentation where the winner of a $500 scholarship will be announced. The scholarship is funded by the Professional Land Surveyors of Oregon and will be awarded to current and prospective students of UCC’s Engineering Department. Forms for the scholarship are available in the counseling department and Jackson offices 6 and 10. Applications must be turned in no later than noon on May 14.

While RSVP forms are available, anyone is welcome to attend this event. About 200 guests are expected to be present based on last year’s attendance.
