Many scholarships are available from individual donors and service organizations throughout Douglas County as well as nationwide. The Umpqua Community College Foundation funds many scholarships to students planning to attend Umpqua Community College. Graduating high school seniors should contact their high school counselor concerning the application process for Umpqua Community College scholarships.
Students planning to attend any college should first file the 2009-2010 Financial Aid Application (FAFSA). The FAFSA is the Free Application For Federal Student Aid, but it is also used to apply for the Oregon Opportunity Grant.
Application forms for FAFSA and other scholarships are available in the UCC Financial Aid Office. The UCC website has links to some excellent scholarship search programs that are available on the Internet. It also has a list of UCC scholarships and forms you can download.
The deadlines are fast approaching for some of the scholarships. For more information, contact Kathy Hogan at 440-7725, or by email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
