• How can I become involved in Dual Credit Classes?
  There are several ways to learn what Dual Credit classes are offered at your high school. Check your high school’s annual course schedule. Also check with your high school counselor and academic and professional technical instructors about course availability. You may also get a list of courses offered at your high school from the Academic Partnerships Office at Umpqua Community College.
  
  To earn credit, you must register for EACH Dual Credit course in which you plan to earn credit. Admission and Registration Forms are available online or from your high school instructor or counselor.
  
  
• What does Dual Credit cost per course?
  There is a ONE-TIME admissions fee of $25. Then all courses for which you are enrolled are free of charge.
  
  
• After I have completed Dual Credit courses, am I considered a returning student at Umpqua Community College?
  Dual Credit students that have taken a course with UCC will have returning student registration status.  However, if you have earned UCC credit through the Dual Credit program you are not considered a "Degree Seeking" student and must go through the same new student process as anyone attending UCC for the first time.  You will not have to pay the $25 fee again. 
  
  
• Must I attend Umpqua Community College after high school in order for the Dual Credit course credits I’ve earned to be on a UCC transcript?
  Your credits may be transferred to another post secondary institution without attending UCC. To have your UCC transcript sent to another institution, you must request transcripts available through the Registrar’s Office. Please note that most institutions will require an official transcript.
  
  
• Can I transfer the credits I’ve earned in Dual Credit professional technical classes to other post secondary institutions?
  Yes. How many of the credits are accepted by other institutions will depend on which type of program the credits are earned in and how many are accepted to fulfill program requirements and how many are accepted as elective credits. Most institutions will accept the majority of the professional technical credits you earn. It is important to check with the Admissions Office at each institution to which you wish to apply.
