The study of languages has been my passion for many years. I have spent over two decades studying, traveling and teaching about languages and cultures. In today's world, a second and even third language is a vital and often necessary skill to have. The World Languages Department at Umpqua Community College offers a two year program in French and Spanish, which prepares our students to pursue a four year university degree in a variety of disciplines, such as Language Education, International Business, International Relations, Journalism and  Political Science. In today's global market, "bilingual" on a resumé is a ticket to a brilliant future.
