Bill Nighy (Love Actually, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel) and Carey Mulligan (Inside Llewyn Davis, The Great Gatsby) feature in the highly anticipated production of David Hare’s Skylight, directed by Stephen Daldry (The Audience), broadcast live from the West End by National Theatre Live.

On a bitterly cold London evening, schoolteacher Kyra Hollis (Carey Mulligan) receives an unexpected visit from her former lover, Tom Sergeant (Bill Nighy), a successful and charismatic restaurateur whose wife has recently died.

As the evening progresses, the two attempt to rekindle their once passionate relationship only to find themselves locked in a dangerous battle of opposing ideologies and mutual desires.

Robert Louis Stevenson’s story of murder, money and mutiny is brought to life in a thrilling new stage adaptation by Bryony Lavery, broadcast live from the National Theatre.

It’s a dark, stormy night. The stars are out. Jim, the inn-keeper’s granddaughter, opens the door to a terrifying stranger. At the old sailor’s feet sits a huge sea-chest, full of secrets. Jim invites him in – and her dangerous voyage begins.

Dinner & Show on Opening Night

UCC Campus, Centerstage Theatre

UCC Theatre Arts presents the hit comedy NOISES OFF!, by Michael Frayn (winner: Olivier Award). The play within a play features an ambitious director and his frustrated cast as they rehearse their flop farce, “Nothing On.” This hilarious show starts to fall apart just as the lights come up on stage! Stephanie Newman directs a local cast that features some very distinguished veteran actors and community members, from a UCC board member to business owners and teachers from our local schools.

UCC’s Culinary Arts, Wine Institute, Theatre programs and their students, with the support of the UCC Foundation, present “Opening Night Dinner and Show”.

Guests attending this special “one night only” experience will enjoy dinner at 5:30 pm in the Danny Lang Center, a no-host bar featuring selections of fine wines and a sneak-peek of Noises Off performed by the understudy cast for your entertainment. Shuttle service from the parking lot of Whipple Fine Arts Center to the dinner and back is provided. Tickets are available until October 30.

  • Smoked chorizo sausage bites finished with parmesan crisp & tomato bacon jelly
  • Buttermilk polenta bites finished with herbed seasonal squash

  • Seasonal Kale salad tossed with a sweet apple dressing and topped pomegranate, candied hazelnuts and blue cheese.

  • Carved roast turkey, wild rice pilaf with cranberries and buttered green beans.

This romping comedy features mistaken identity, love triangles, and the hilarious drunk uncle Sir Toby Belch. Even the uptight servant Malvolio falls in love in this romantic comedy that will offer the entire family a good laugh.

Corey Arnold is a photographer and commercial fisherman. Since the days of childhood outings with his father trolling for tuna off the coast of California, he has been photographing the relationship between people and the sea. It has since grown into a life-long project entitled Fish-Work, an effort to chronicle the lives of commercial fishermen around the world.
