Got time-based content? - Start & Finish Publishing

Categories // Web Editor Tips

Start and Finish Publishing Feature

Whenever you have content that is time-based, it would be good to take into consideration the Start & Finish Publishing settings.

Let's say that you have a web page that needs to go-live in the future, perhaps an announcement. Just set the "Start Publishing" date and time (time is in the Military standard). So if you want your web page to be viewable on the website on June 14, 2014 at 4:30pm, enter "2014-06-14 16:30:00". In this case, the web page will not become viewable on the website until the specific date and time that you set.

Conversely, if you have a web page that should become unviewable on the website after a certain date and time, just set the "Finish Publishing" date and time.

If you are using the Start Publishing or Finish Publishing setting, you must set the "Status" setting to "Published".

What about menus?
Menu settings are not available to all web editors. Whenever you are considering the use of the Start Publishing or Finish Publishing setting, work with web services.
